Why Are Christians So...?
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 Being consistent is a rare trait to come across these days. Whether it’s in work, school, relationships, or as we talked about this Sunday, in our faith as well. Our society today has labeled inconsistency as a normality for living. Why work hard for everything, when slacking on something will still get the job done? Consistency is defined as: “the condition of cohering or holding together and retaining form; solidity or firmness.” One of the hardest things to accomplish in life, especially in faith, is giving 100 percent all the time. How can we “hold together and retain form” with our family, our work, our friends, and our spiritual life? It all starts by giving 100 percent. The perfect example is in Luke 18:18-23, the man who could not give up everything. He asks Jesus what he needs to do to receive eternal life. After making it known that he follows the commandments, Jesus tells him to sell everything he has and follow Him. The man, being very wealthy, walked away and became very sad. So that leaves us a question: why are christians so...halfhearted? Most of the time it is something that we can’t let go of weighing us down. This week, take a look at your life and see what is holding you back from giving 100 percent all the time. It’s time as believers to break the mold and live WHOLEheartedly. Comments are closed.
