“Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.” 2 Corinthians 9:13
We have all had that one person in our lives who we consistently give to, without receiving anything in return. No matter how much or how often, they don’t seem to be impacted; sometimes a simple “thank you” won’t even be expressed. Is there a point, though, when being too generous can hurt us? In 2 Corinthians 9:13, we see that our obedience and generosity will cause others to praise God. Generosity is just one of many ways to show Christ to the world. But as Geoff talked about Sunday, there will come a point when we have given too much. For all of us, that point or “limit” is completely different. I encourage you this week to dig down deep. Maybe there is a relationship in your life in which you have reached that point. Be in prayer and let the Lord direct you in the steps to take. Comments are closed.
