Forgive and forget
Matthew 6:12(The Message Translation): “Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.”

I love how Eugene Peterson translated this verse in The Message. It really gives the full effect of the verse: Lord keep us forgiven in you, and help us to forgive others. I love what Geoff talked about on Sunday, that we will never feel the full affect of being forgiven, until we forgive. How many of us are holding on to that grudge we just can’t seem to let go of? I know I am. The first part is owning up to it, then taking the steps afterwards to let it go. This week, take a few minutes and write out people you need to forgive. For some, it may be an event from 10 or more years ago; for others, it might be something that just happened this week. Whatever it is, write it down and own up to it. It is time to move forward and let the past be the past. Let it out and let God do the rest.
